CN Glass Supports Local Community Project

CN Glass in Banbury are a second-generation, family run business who have been serving the areas of Banbury, Oxford and the Cotswolds for over 50 years, manufacturing and providing glass and glazing solutions, for both commercial and domestic clients, and are well-known leading installers of windows and doors.

Based at their premises in Banbury and employing over 80 members of staff, CN Glass is proud to be able to ‘give back’ to the community and is regularly involved in fundraising activities and supporting local charities where it can.

One organisation that CN Glass has recently assisted, is the Breadline Project. This small, 10-person, volunteer-run organisation was the brainchild of born and bred, Banbury resident, Andrew, who runs the project from his property located in the heart of the town in Oxfordshire.

Andrew approached us for support of his project, whereby he needed materials to expand the stores for the donated food items and CN Glass were more than happy to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

The materials were put to good use and Andrew has recently been able to extend the roof of the stores, allowing a more spacious area for both the storage of the donated food items from local Banbury supermarkets, restaurants and shops and, a better experience for the visitors to the stores.

CN Glass recently visited the premises to see how the project was going and has also been able to donate branded shopping bags to the project for visitors to use.

Andrew said, “I started the Breadline Project to help relieve food insecurities and to reduce food waste across Banbury, whilst supporting and serving our local community.”

Gemma, one of the Directors of CN Glass said, “It was wonderful to visit Andrew at the Breadline Project, he is so utterly passionate about supporting the community and we were delighted to have been able to support such a worthwhile cause. The premises that Andrew has created, along with the inviting atmosphere and his honest and open personality are so inspirational and are a credit to his hard work, care and dedication to the cause.”

CN Glass will continue to support the Banbury Breadline Project where it can and Andrew has explained how he would like to expand the organisation by launching an after-school meal club facility, for secondary school children who are not currently being served by existing community groups.

Andrew and his team of volunteers would be grateful of any further community support to get this new idea off the ground in the near future. If you can assist in any way, Andrew can be contacted on breadlineproject@outlook.com.
