Whether you live near a busy road, railway line, airport, or in a bustling urban environment, unwanted noise can have a significant impact on your comfort and wellbeing. The same applies to commercial spaces, schools, and offices, where excessive noise can reduce concentration, productivity, and privacy. Fortunately, there is an effective solution. By carefully selecting…

On 9th September 2026 we hosted our first CPD Event in partnership with Vacuum Glazing UK in Oxford, bringing together architects, conservation specialists, joiners, and construction professionals from across the industry. Our aim : To highlight LandVac Vacuum Glazing as a key contender of glazing technology and as a viable solution for projects where conventional…

The double glazing U-value measures the thermal transmittance and heat loss rate through a window assembly. Modern commercial glazing typically achieves a whole-window U-value between 1.1 and 1.4 W/m²K to ensure compliance with Building Regulations Part L. Lower values indicate superior insulation and reduced heat transfer. Thermal performance depends on the combination of low-emissivity coatings, inert gas fillings like Argon, and warm-edge spacer bars. Achieving these targets is essential for meeting ESG goals and reducing the operational carbon footprint of a building. High-performance glazing prevents heat escape and lowers the energy demand for internal climate control.

Laminated acoustic glass helps buildings meet environmental standards by integrating noise reduction with thermal efficiency. It features a specialised polyvinyl butyral interlayer that dampens sound vibrations to satisfy UK Building Regulations Part E. This material supports compliance with Part L requirements for energy conservation when installed within insulated units. Architects gain credits for BREEAM and WELL certifications by improving indoor environmental quality through superior sound attenuation. The glass maintains low U-values and reduces operational carbon by lowering the demand for artificial heating and cooling. This high-performance glazing ensures sustainable building certification and long-term occupant wellbeing.

Installing modern double glazing in educational facilities cuts energy costs by significantly reducing thermal heat loss and stabilising indoor temperatures year-round. Advanced commercial window systems improve classroom acoustic insulation, suppressing external noise distractions to maintain an optimal learning environment. Upgrading outdated single glazed units lowers heating bills while meeting safety regulations and solar glare control standards. Specifying energy-efficient commercial glazing from CN Glass delivers long term operational energy savings and enhanced classroom comfort for schools.

Vacuum glazing is an insulating glass technology where all air is removed from between two panes to create a sealed vacuum. This structure eliminates convective and conductive heat transfer, delivering thermal performance that matches traditional triple glazing. Advanced systems like LandVac achieve low U-values of 0.4 W/m²K within an ultra slim profile of only 8.3 millimetres. This thin design provides acoustic insulation and thermal retention without heavy, bulky framing. It is suitable for retrofitting heritage structures, listed buildings, and modern architectural projects requiring slim sightlines.

In-house manufactured double and triple glazed sealed units improve building performance by providing superior thermal insulation under BS EN 1279 standards. Producing these high specification units locally in Oxfordshire eliminates outsourcing delays, ensures rigorous quality checks, and prevents transit damage. Utilising advanced warm edge spacer bars, insulating argon gas, and low-emissivity coatings significantly lowers U values and prevents internal condensation. This flexible manufacturing process accommodates bespoke specifications, from slimline heritage glazing for historic properties to heavy duty safety glass for commercial facades, securing long term durability and structural integrity.

CN Glass is an architectural glazing supplier based in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds that designs and installs structural glass installations. With over fifty years of experience, the company collaborates with architects and project managers on bespoke architectural builds. Their specific glazing services include oversized large-format glass, structural frameless glazing, custom rooflights, glass partitions, and internal glass walls. The specialist installation team handles technical site challenges, including high-level placements, restricted access, and historic heritage building preservation projects.

The CN Glass Easter Doors competition in Banbury was won by a five-year-old primary school pupil named Mariella. Her winning colourful Easter-themed artwork was transformed into the glass panes of the company’s showroom doors by the in-house lead work team. Mariella won a trip to Cadbury World as her individual prize. Her school also received book tokens to support local learning. The completed glass artwork is currently on public display at the CN Glass showroom on Beaumont Road in Banbury.

Structural glazing is an architectural installation method where glass functions as an active, load-bearing structural component of a building. This technique utilises high-performance engineered glass, hidden support systems, and specialist silicone sealants rather than bulky frames. It maximises natural light and creates expansive, seamless glass installations for modern residential and commercial designs. Common structural glazing applications include frameless glass walls, architectural balustrades, glass walkways, and large-format facades. These bespoke glass assemblies provide high thermal efficiency, extreme structural safety, and enhanced visual connection to outdoor spaces.
