At CN Glass in Banbury, Oxfordshire, we don’t just replace glass—we deliver complete commercial glazing solutions.
We’re currently undertaking a phased replacement program of failed double glazed units at Stuart House, a shared working space in Peterborough, on behalf of Eddisons, replacing numerous misted and failed insulated double glazed units within the building’s curtain walling system.
With many of the existing units suffering from seal failure, the project has been carefully planned to allow works to be completed in stages, minimising disruption to the building’s occupants while restoring the appearance and thermal performance of the façade.
Precision Planning from Start to Finish and projects of this scale require far more than simply replacing glass.

The team at CN Glass managed every aspect of the project, including:
- Detailed site surveys
- Glass specification and colour matching to ensure the new units blend seamlessly with the existing façade
- Manufacture of bespoke replacement insulated glass units
- Transport and delivery logistics
- Plant hire coordination
- Local authority road and pavement permits where required
- Safe installation sequencing
- Full project management from enquiry through to completion
By coordinating every stage of the works, we provide our clients with a seamless service and a single point of contact throughout the project.
Specialist Glass Requires Specialist Equipment and each replacement insulated glass unit measures approximately 1350mm x 3125mm and weighs around 126kg.
Handling glazing of this size safely demands specialist equipment and experienced engineers. To access the curtain walling system, our fully qualified installation team utilised a Nifty HR21 Hybrid Boom Lift, allowing safe working at height while carefully dismantling sections of the curtain wall to remove the existing glazing.
The replacement units were then lifted into position using a JCB 540-200 High-Reach Telehandler, fitted with a Skylifter 400 hydraulic vacuum lifting attachment.
Capable of lifting up to 400kg, the Skylifter allows our engineers to manoeuvre large glass units with exceptional accuracy, positioning them with millimetre precision while maintaining the highest levels of safety, which is never compromised.

Working with large-format glazing at height requires meticulous planning and strict adherence to health and safety procedures and our engineers are fully trained and competent in:
âś” Working at Height
âś” MEWP Operation
âś” Manual Handling
âś” Glass Handling
âś” Harness Use
âś” Commercial Curtain Wall Glazing Installation
Every lift is planned, every risk assessed, and every installation completed using the appropriate PPE and specialist equipment.
